To dear Gaynor,
We had the most lovely time staying with you. It was only brief (2 days), however it feels like we’ve just made another friend!
Our room was plenty big enough for two people with everything we needed/wanted (stove, microwave, iron, heating, ensuite, kitchenette, alarm clock, tourist info, muffins (mmm), sofa, hanging space, washing machine facilities). It was very comfortable, particularly since we’d just completed a 3 day hike!
We would like to sincerely thank you for your hospitality. You went out of your way to make us feel welcome, and blew us away by doing my hair for the wedding we attended!!

We stayed for 2 nights at the Owaka Lodge motel in February and we wish we could have stayed longer.
The motel unit was just what we wanted, it was comfortable with lovely homely touches like the fresh roses and muffins and the kitchen area had everything that we needed in it.
Gaynor was so welcoming and really made us feel at home. We had a fantastic day exploring the Catlins, the highlights for us being Curio Bay and the waterfalls. Unfortunately the tide times meant we couldn’t see Cathedral Caves so maybe we’ll just have to come back one day! The restaurant across the road is great and I had one of my favourite meals of the holiday there, venison in blueberry and red wine sauce – delicious!
We would recommend Owaka Lodge to anyone who wanted to spend some time exploring the Catlins.
Fastastic B&B/motel! What a truly wonderful find on our holiday. Wonderful hosts, breakfast superb, all fresh and home cooked. Rooms beautiful and clean. Recommend 100% if you’re in this neck of the woods. A real gem of a find.
